Well, I've taken a couple of weeks off from Today's Cool News to concentrate on reviving Brian's Lunch but with Web 2.0 in town for this week, I figure it's time to get things cranked up again.

So if you've been Jonesing for some Cool News, here it comes...

Blogging Time

So I've just started a new work schedule.. 5am-1pm or thereabouts...and while I enjoy the schedule from a professional and even personal point of view, I haven't yet figured out when blogging time will be... I used to seek out cool news in the mornings before I went in at 3pm...

So let's get it started...

Some Things are Cool But Not Quite Cool Enough

As sombunall of you noticed, you can now subscribe to Today's Cool News through e-mail.  Just enter your info to the right.

While sifting through the stuff for TCN usually in my Google Reader, I find some things that are interesting, that you might find interesting, but I don't really have much of anything to add about them.  So now I've added my Google Reader Shared Items feed to the right side of the site, so please check them out.  You can also visit a page listing just the Shared Items and subscribe to the RSS feed for the Shared Items.

You may have already noticed the list of items I Digg in the sidebar.  I will continue to add to that more assiduously.  Do note some of the items in the Digg bar may also end up being full TCN posts.

Who says Bloggers Get Vacations?

So I just get the momentum going on this place and I then take a few days off.  I'm actually in Lake Tahoe at the moment sitting in front of a fire in the hotel lobby since that's the only place with Wifi.  Last night I was in Orangevale near Folsom near Sacramento for a WhiteNoiseMetal.com shoot with Belay My Last and As Blood Runs Black... both were amazing. 

I will try to do a little blogging this weekend before returning full-blast on Tuesday.

(BTW, thanks to my profligate lifestyle, we won't do a podcast this week.  Next week will cover the two weeks leading up to it.

Welcome to Today's Cool News

One of the great things about what I do is that I spend a lot of time online finding cool things on the web.  In some cases, I'm looking for something specific related to my work.  In other cases I just wander into something cool without expecting it.

This is a place to share those things with you.  Eventually I would love to hear from you about Cool things you saw in the news as well.

Now what the hell do I mean by "cool".  I should warn you, the things I find cool may not be the same things you do.  That's cool. ;)  Some of these items will be fascinating.  Some will be funny.  Some will be serious.  Some will be downright scary.  It's all cool with me.

I'm also going to take the week's coolest items and highlight them in a weekly podcast.  Stay tuned for that.
