Why Radio is Getting More Like Rasslin' Every Day

That's right, it appears the next grudge cage whatever match will pit Bubba the Love Sponge over (no shit) Todd Schnitt aka MJ.

Syndicated air personality Todd Schnitt, aka MJ, is suing rival syndicated morning host Bubba the Love Sponge for slanderous and libelous statements.

The suit claims that Bubba called MJ "a lying piece of crap", "a kid Schnitt snitch" and "one of the top four or five people behind our arrest and the trial of the hog deal." It also accuses Bubba of calling his wife, Michelle, who appears on the morning show from time to time, a degrading name.

Bubba (pictured) told WTSP-TV/Tampa's Tammie Fields that he "didn't say anything defamatory or slanderous like he made allegations of. Really bad stuff like touching kids or something I would never go there." Continuing, "This is somebody who got his feelings hurt that's exactly what it is. He gets on the air everyday. He's a public figure."

Bubba also told Fields that it's true he does make fun of MJ's physical attributes.

Sorry MJ, but it sounds like he's got you there on that whole public figure thing.  Now I'm off to Google the "hog deal"

The Rumors of Air America's Death

Well, if they can't get advertisers to support them, what hope is there for Air America?

The latest rumors of the lefty network's demise MAY be premature.

Rumors remain just that, as ALL ACCESS spoke with AIR AMERICA COO SCOTT ELBERG regarding buzz that the progressive Talk network would fold soon, with some of the programming being picked up by the WOR RADIO NETWORK.

"No truth to that at all," said ELBERG.

What's Bill Gates Got Against Air America Radio?

This is amazing... Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard are on a list of advertisers who apparently told ABC Radio not to run their spots on Air America programming.

From Media Matters:

An internal ABC Radio Networks memo obtained by Media Matters for America, originally from a listener to The Peter B. Collins Show, indicates that nearly 100 ABC advertisers insist that their commercials be blacked out on Air America Radio affiliates. According to the memo, the advertisers insist that "NONE of their commercials air during AIR AMERICA programming." Among the advertisers listed are Bank of America, Exxon Mobil, Federal Express, General Electric, McDonald's, Microsoft, Wal-Mart, and the U.S. Navy.
